Some exciting funding news for one of our 2024 Future Club companies aiSight.ai. AI-Sight – the University of Liverpool #AI diagnostic technology spin-out based at Sci-Tech Daresbury – has successfully concluded its seven-figure equity funding round from experienced healthcare industry figures and investors. This funding round will support MHRA approval and Class 2 certification for AI-Sight’s full diagnostic platform, as well as its launch in the UK and internationally. The platform is designed to improve patient outcomes, with additional benefits that promote efficiency in public health systems and ensure human resources are allocated to the areas of greatest need. The funders, committed to developing innovation and business in the North West of England, include Sir Michael Bibby (Chairman of the Bibby Line Group and Hon PhD, University of Liverpool), Phil Kirby (former Managing Director of InHealth Intelligence), Pitalia Capital (the family office of Anil Pitalia, Founder of SpaMedica, ophthalmology specialists) and Deepbridge Capital. Seemingly small step for FemPulse - potential huge relief for 50 % of world population :) (over 50 yrs) I'm an early investor in FemPulse, founded by a urogynecologist to commercialize her patented bioelectronic female health platform. The first vaginally-inserted and removable FemPulse Ring aplicable for women worldwide with overactive bladder. There is a huge market need between ineffective medication and effective but inherently limited surgically implanted neuromodulation. FemPulse has received a small pre Christmas present from FDA that could lead to big present for 50% of women worldwide. FemPulse’s “internal wearable” non-implanted neuromodulation device should be approved in Europe in 2025. Now FDA has approved the U.S. pivotal study for FemPulse. Specialist medical practitioners are among new investors in Medow Health AI after the startup raised $2 million in a seed round to capitalise on rapid growth by the medtech over the past 18 months. Described as a healthcare technology company “by specialists, for specialists”, Medow Health AI, founded by Joel Freiberg, Josh Freiberg and Andrew Sharapo uses artificial intelligence to assist medical professionals automate the delivery of medical reports.
