The Vine team has been an amazing contributor in helping us launch Branded. Eric and I have been working together for months before we even had put the full team in place, providing valuable market intelligence and advisor introductions. In addition, the Vine team brought in several strategic investors into our Series A, including the lead investor and some of the most successful founders in the world.

I cannot speak highly enough about Eric and Dan. They were key to our fundraise: from helping us position our story to connecting us to other LatAm founders and, most importantly, bringing in our lead investor. They coached me through each stage of our early fundraisings and I now consider them close friends as well as top notch investors. I would highly recommend Vine Ventures to any founder.

Vine isn’t your typical ‘write you a check’ fund. They’re down in the trenches with the founding team, fighting our daily battles. Eric and Dan saw our potential and believed in us from the start. The team traveled to Colombia for over 3 weeks to deeply understand our business. Vine mentored and coached us through our Series A which became one of the largest in LatAm VC history. Vine is the fund you really want in your initial cap table.

Eric is the ideal person to have as an investor and on our Board. He is constantly adding value via recruiting, sales, reporting, governance, and fundraising. He is also extremely supportive and founder-friendly. That said, he is not afraid to have hard conversations and make us aware of when he feels we need to improve or change. You can always trust Eric for his honest advice and transparency. Eric is the first call I advise new founders to make when they are looking for funding.

Working with Isaac and Vine has been one of the defining pleasures of founding Modern Intelligence. Isaac is profoundly motivated by his love of country. He has been incredibly helpful and in a way that is responsive to the changing needs of the company from supporting our buildout of a very robust ML talent pipeline, to recruiting advisors and manually editing our deck and model. He listens to us with great empathy, celebrating the highs and strategizing to overcome the lows. I have experienced his generosity of spirit. This experience is not the exception; to the many companies he and Vine have invested in, it is simply the rule.

I’ve been delighted to coach Dan and some of the CEOs in Vine’s portfolio on leadership, culture, and personal development, so I’ve gotten a close-up view on how Dan and Vine support their founders. Frankly, Dan is wonderful. He’s empathic, high integrity, and razor sharp. He balances strong opinions with careful listening. And he actually cares about you as a person. Not to mention, as a founder himself, he (and the team) gets it. He’s the kind of investor you want and rarely find, and he’ll support you to be the leader your company needs. Can you tell? Vine Ventures is an inseparable part of who I am. It is the embodiment of what I hope to accomplish with the “work” part of my time on this incredible planet. It is a family of like-minded individuals, looking to make money for incredible individuals and institutions, by backing some of the most heroic, brave, and determined creators in the world.

We started Vine in 2020, receiving our first Limited Partner commitments days before COVID-19 broke out. Vine is a resilient founding team just like the ones we back; dedicated to innovating and developing the best user experience for founders beginning their process of creation.

Before forming the team and capital behind Vine, I was with Insight Venture Partners, where I spent my days relentlessly searching for founders of growth-stage companies, and made investments in several including Xamarin (acquired by MSFT) and 1stdibs (DIBS – NASDAQ). Following Insight, I joined my friend Liad Agmon at Dynamic Yield to help build out the US presence of the Israeli software company that would ultimately get acquired by McDonald’s for a reported $300m.

Immediately before Vine, I co-founded a venture capital firm called Sinai Ventures, backed by a single family office of one of the founders of SAP, where I was fortunate to lead early investments in companies like Carta, Hippo, Ro, Unqork, FrontApp, Ramp, Dutchie, and others.

Vine is the outcome of a career and dream to combine our team’s experience and track record to build a new generation of venture capital firms. We are your peers, not your parents, and our LP base and operator network of some of the most powerful people in industry and finance can fundamentally impact the trajectory of your company.

I am a grateful husband to Arianne and father to Sophie and Salo. I enjoy playing racquet sports and am uniquely available as a wedding DJ, Photographer, and Rabbi. I am a board member of United Hatzalah.

Vine Ventures is the closest it gets to partnering with a VC that understands the founder mentality. We did not inherit a portfolio, an office, or investors; rather, we built our firm from the ground-up to deliver a world-class experience to founders, employees, and limited partners. Today, we are one of the largest seed-focused firms in NYC with a differentiated footprint in Tel Aviv and San Francisco.

With the goal of being the go-to funding source for early-stage entrepreneurs in our target markets, I’ve relocated to each as we set up our operations on the West Coast and in Israel. I happily go where our team needs me most and am involved across significant parts of our portfolio, supporting founders in strategy, hiring, fundraising, and most importantly: balancing listening and speaking, always with a solutions-oriented approach.

I started my career at Credit Suisse (in 2013, when the TMT group took Alibaba public) and TA Associates (investing and running global M&A for a portfolio roll-up). With an entrepreneurial itch, in 2018, I was fortunate to find in Eric Reiner a partner I aligned with morally, ethically, and in our mutual pursuit of becoming the best at our craft. Through a single family office-backed fund, we invested early in a handful of companies that became standouts of their vintage: Carta, Hippo, Roman, Unqork, and Front. That track-record and the support of founders and mentors allowed us to go institutional and launch Vine. Today, we support a diverse portfolio of entrepreneurs as their lead investors; and I’m proud to say we have helped them achieve a range of personal and professional milestones, including one of the highest graduation rates (from Seed to Series A and B) in the industry.

I’m a big believer in focusing on your power-skill, embracing what makes you different, and developing your unique advantage to win. Test-taking not being my strength, as a teenager I focused on cross country and track to improve my chances in college admissions. Hard work (and coaches’ belief) became my ticket to the University of Chicago where I was lucky to earn enduring friendships, a couple conference titles, and a degree in Economics. To this day, I get the most enjoyment from team accomplishments and am grateful to work with founders and LPs alongside one of the best early stage investing teams in venture.

When not working, I devote time to family and close friends, with whom I hope to be more often hiking, skiing, and adventuring.

The first sentence of a VC bio is supposed to be inspiring. Thankfully, I prefer to focus on second impressions.

I grew up in Los Angeles and received my undergraduate degree from Harvard, where I was determined to study subjects that had no application to the real world. I majored in theoretical math because I obsess over logic riddles and minored in English because I obsess over Vladimir Nabokov. Little did I know these passions would manifest in surprising ways as a VC – whether in reading research papers, writing yet another blog post, or connecting on a deeper level with founders.

After graduating, I moved to New York City and spent over three years at Blackstone Private Equity. Focusing on technology and business services sectors, I was privileged to partner with companies like Ultimate Software, Kronos, Vivint, Cloverleaf, and Gates. Having exposure early in my career to mature, public technology businesses – as an investor, operator, and BOD observer – has made me a profoundly better (and more empathetic) early-stage investor.

I joined Vine as the first hire and now lead our efforts on the West Coast and LatAm. I’m a generalist but tend to index towards industries utilizing cutting edge technologies such as machine learning, data, security, and developer tools.

Second impressions matter most because venture investing isn’t about the sales pitch on day one. It’s about showing up on day two – fielding your late night calls, finding your next 10x engineer, introducing you to a pipeline of eager enterprise customers. That’s the kind of partner I aspire to be at Vine. Anyone can write a check, but not everyone can invest.

Backing the next cohort of generational technology companies is busy work. But in my limited free time, you can find me at the nearest cinema or taking extremely high risk bets on my skis.

Being a seed-stage investor means meeting people during one of the most critical inflection points of their lives, where they have jumped in to solve a problem and committed the next many years to it. At Vine, I’m fortunate to be a partner in supporting individuals on this journey.

I invest in founders harnessing the latest advancements in technology and AI with a particular interest in its intersections with national security, healthcare, and life sciences. I arrived at these interests because I wanted to work on problems that touched people’s lives, where the government plays a significant role, and where the state of affairs stands to be improved through superior execution, software, and business model innovation.

Before becoming an investor, I worked at Google X, where I was responsible for sourcing novel technologies for moonshot projects. Working side-by-side with leading AI researchers and developing new projects from the ground up, it was here that I fell in love with frontier tech, especially coming out of places like academia, labs, and research institutions.

Great power competition has been on my mind since I was a teenager – when I began researching foreign investment in Africa and working with candidates running for the highest U.S. offices. I believe we are in a unique moment when there are finally opportunities to build new, generational businesses serving the national interest.

Whether it’s bringing access and relationships to technical founders or tapping my network of engineering talent for non-technical CEOs, I have found both to be incredibly rewarding approaches to helping highly ambitious people build great businesses.

As a born and bred New Yorker, it is a special privilege to do this work in my hometown, one of the world’s great cities and technology ecosystems.

I first became passionate about operations and community building during my time in various non-profit organizations. At Nefesh B’Nefesh, I supported immigrants arriving in Israel by building a coworking space in Tel Aviv, connecting them to employers, and facilitating dozens of inclusion programs and initiatives across the country.

I started my career as an Analyst at MunichRe’s corporate VC arm and continued in Investor Relations at the Israel-based investment firm, OurCrowd. There, I organized the firm’s annual Global Investor Summit, one of the Middle East’s premier tech conferences. My excitement about the Israeli tech ecosystem, as well as my attention to the ways in which the venture ecosystem could be improved within it, led me to seek out a firm with similar characteristics.

At Vine, I supercharge the investment team by creating processes and managing programming that bring our community together — for example: our team offsites, annual meeting, and events across TLV, NYC, and SF. I help achieve the partnership’s strategic goals by ensuring clear communication across the team and distilling vision into executable objectives.

I am a mother of two and lead my town’s governing council, which oversees essential infrastructure development and liaises with local and national governments.

I joined Vine after nearly a decade at GCM Grosvenor, a multi-billion dollar institutional investment allocator. At GCM, I spent time in roles ranging from business analyst to accountant to a member of the deal team. Most recently, I was a Principal in Operational Due Diligence, where I was responsible for detailed evaluation of fund managers, including emerging managers and venture capital funds. It was my time on the ODD team where I was exposed to VC managers’ internal operations; and where I developed my interest in how to design these operations to mitigate non-investment risk. In other words, what it takes to build an institutional-quality firm.

Building and understanding how things work is my inner compass. I studied Mechanical Engineering at Northwestern University, where friends and I designed and built CAD models, robots, and even a capacitance-sensing musical instrument. Today, I spend less time on building physical things and more time on building Vine with the team. While Vine’s investors take a detailed and diligent approach to backing founders, I mirror that mindset in managing Vine’s operations. By marrying process with reality, I reduce any friction to delivering on our objectives for our founders, employees, and limited partners.

I live in Chicago with my wife and son, who was born on Open Championship Sunday in 2022 and has already visited the Vine offices in Tel Aviv! I love golf, am a diehard Denver Broncos fan, and am looking forward to rebuilding one of my old sets of golf clubs to fit my son when the time arrives.

I founded Rebel, an interactive e-mail API company in NYC. By 2018, our customers included brands like Dollar Shave Club, L’Oreal and HelloFresh, and we were acquired by Salesforce to become an extension of their Marketing and Commerce Cloud.

I have been at Salesforce since the acquisition, most recently as SVP of Salesforce Labs. I am responsible for product strategy, including AI initiatives and directing strategic acquisitions across our cloud offering.

I also co-founded GoodToday.org, a non-profit platform with the mission of making charity a habit for thousands. I enjoy investing in and working with empathetic founders. I spend my evenings as a volunteer EMT in NYC.

I started my career cold-calling founders, “selling money”, on the investment team at Insight Partners with Eric Reiner. I subsequently left to start my own company, Intello (“SaaS to manage SaaS”). I made a ton of mistakes yet listened enough to find the need customers had with SaaS security, culminating in a successful exit to SailPoint in 2021.

After the acquisition, I took some time to recharge while vesting & resting at SailPoint, incubating two health tech businesses on the side and running a few founder communities, including one for post-exit founders. I’m also an active angel investor.

Most of my time is spent helping founders at the pre-idea and idea stage. Specifically, with post-exit founders who are navigating the “what’s next” questions. I love the 0 to 1 stage and plan to partner with epic founders building missionary companies for the rest of my career.
