East Nashville Magnet's new stadium has a familiar name to it.

School officials announced at halftime of the school's game with Brainerd that the stadium would be named after the school's first principal J.J. Keyes.

If that name sounds familiar, it should. East's original stadium, which was located where Ross Elementary currently resides, was named J.J. Keyes Stadium. The old stadium seated 5,500 and was considered the top prep stadium in the area.

East Nashville played its first on-campus high school football game since East High closed after the 1985-1986 school year. East Nashville brought back football eight years ago, playing its home games at TPS.
