Changes made to Euclid from 2nd Avenue west have caused an excess of traffic, often too fast on our side streets in addition to numerous accidents and issues for residents of our community. This has been done under the guise of safety but sought to provide a minimal amount of parking for a handful of businesses in the neighborhood. 

A small group of residents, business owners and association members voted and pushed for these changes without weighing the wants of the community as a whole and have blatantly ignored those who have opposed the changes by every means possible.

This petition seeks to request the City of Des Moines, the State of Iowa DOT and Neighborhood Association produce a plan to either reverse the changes made or offer a solution which weighs the community as a whole. This includes addressing the uptick in both volume and speed of traffic on our side streets and the highly dangerous intersections in our neighborhood not even addressed by the changes.
