I was at an apartment complex for a client for a social work meeting and parked out of the way in the grass next to the visitors spot. I arrived first and let another worker take the visitor spot. After a short meeting, my car was gone. The other tow company in Ankeny told me that they didn’t have my car bc they put a sticker on cars and allow 24 hours before they tow. They also told me to call crow tow and that they are known for predatory towing. Sure enough they had my van. Unlike others, they charged me not $200 but a whopping $300 to get my vehicle!!! I asked if they have regulatory fees posted or that I could view and they said they do not. I believe bc my vehicle was late model and in Ankeny they charged more bc they think I can afford more. Apartment residents say their visitors are regularly towed by crow tow and charged various rates and never the same rate. I spoke to Randy Crow in the office and he was manipulative and dishonest to say the least. The lady who went to the back to get our car was clearly doped up on meth and had no business behind the wheel of any vehicles. Sketchy stuff all the way around.
