Most great sports films end with a sporting triumph, but very few of them look and sound as beautiful as this one.
A baseball story with many hints of Homer's Odyssey and the legend of King Arthur, this film is probably most famous for it's rousing theme composed by Randy Newman. Starring Robert Redford, Robert Duvall, Glenn Close, Kim Basinger and Wilford Brimley. Directed by Barry Levinson and adapted from a story by Bernard Malamud.
